Why use them when you have yell and google maps?

Because its free, Yell are crap and what do Google maps do again....

Any way just finding out if any one has used them, ...

They are trying to sell the areas as franchises for £8k+vat.

The franchisees must have to make that money back some how?? How?? Premium listings etc etc..

I dont know how it works, I really dont care, I was asking if anyone had used it, if they had what did their thoughts are, has it worked for them etc.

But Yell is crap.......so an alternative would be good

If it's free advertising it's gotta be worth it...  Just make sure you get your advert right, because you'll forget about it soon, and it'll be there for a long time.

As fas as I can work out the 'packages' start at £20 pm.

When I started up (not long ago) I spent ages getting listed on as many free on-line directories as I could find.  I've had absolutely no work whatsoever from any of them, as far as I can tell. 

However, *maybe* my on-line presence on these sites has helped elevate my position with Google?

The citations should help your local presence and should send signals that you are a "real" business.
