Yes,

We went through a big puddle in ours and it ripped clean off. There's a radiator inside of it that cools down the diesel.

The AA came out to us and the guy got underneath the van and fastened the radiator back to the van with some clamps he had onboard. The scoop is no more. He said it isn't needed as the wind underneath the van would cool the radiator.

This was 2 monts ago and I've had no problems since.

Dean.

There was a lot of silt that gets rammed into the duct and forces it out of shape, the it bends back on its self and catches on the road.

my peugeot expert had one until a couple of years ago, same thing happened, was catching on speed bumps for a few days before it was ripped back on itself , never got round to fixing it then as it was icy cold, hasn't had any adverse effect since removing it.

No,

It cools the diesel.

All very pointless but pretty lethal if you get it wrong.

You do get a bit out that with italian cars/vans though.
