Sorry another Prochem question SX2100
« on: November 02, 2012, 10:42:11 pm »
Hi again and apologies for all the prochem questions.

So after taking advice from my previous topic I have found a prochem powermax SX2100 (dual vacuum) which I am due to pick up tomorrow (its second hand). I have a couple of questions

1/ It is advertised as having a 150psi pump. This is the same as the prochem website states however looking at some other websites which sell the model new some of them state a 100psi pump. Does anyone know what the correct power of the pump is? Was it an old version which had a 100psi pump and if so how do I check the one I am buying does have the 150psi version?

2/ As im not going to have a clue at what I am looking at im a little concerned that I dont want to buy a dud. The chap said it is still like new but if anyone could give me pointers of what to look out for (common problems) that will be much appreciated.

Thanks again to everyone for your continued help.
Greg

Crack it open and take a look inside.

We often supply the newer 150psi induction pumps as replacements for older machines these days.

There will be a rating plate on the pump that should give an indication as to it's power.

Start each vac independently then switch it off and listen to it wind down. If you hear a lot of clicking towards the end it may have a dodgy bearing.
