Another new tool for gutter cleaning
« on: October 30, 2012, 12:12:30 pm »
I have just made another tool to help with gutter cleaning, I got one of these off eBay

150922678743

I then use a Gardiners swivel quick release adapter and  small piece of tubing to connect them both together.

It is now perfect for for running along the gutter and pushing all the dirt into one compact area to vac out.

I will also be looking at making more tools to fit to these type of quick release adapters,it gives me something to do in hospital

They are used in drain clearing
i use them when gutter cleaning by attaching to the drain rods and dragging all the crap to one spot

I am also going to put a pair of scissor blades though the plate, they will help to cut though any in growing roots and such

That's the idea, the only problem with drain rods is the angle you need to work at unless you use ladders to get upto the gutter.

With the Gardiners swivel adapter, you can work while facing forward to the gutter, not the side as with the rods

isn't it a waste of time though, as the time you spend going along with that you might as well of used the vac to go along.. and also its only really going to work on guttering that is far enough away from the tiles.

Not really, because the lid moves you can get under the tiles and sit the tool in the gutter. The extension bar is only 2 cm wide.

As for using the gutter vac to just go along and suck everything out, I wish it was that simple
