i wouldnt be surprised if diesel has been going into the burner without sparking, this will of amounted up then the ingniting spark has started working again, this could cause the fire to shoot out
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

As a fellow Northerner, you know Sale is a "good walk" from Walkden, however as the forum covers the Southern shandy drinkers, the wild Scots and even the Welsh, I described the locality loosely. It is round the corner, a few miles up the road.  :)
