Holster?  Yes.

Not very practical (IMO) as it usually makes your leg wet and restricts your movement somewhat.

What we need obviously is a tap that works as a cam  ;)
The hose passes under the open cam then the lever can be closed to pinch the flow off anywhere on the hose and locked in position.

Exactly what I was trying to say. It should be easy to combine this setup with a trigger.

It should also be very cheap to produce - it'd be nearly all plastic, no valves or connectors etc.
