Cleaning uPVC
« on: January 25, 2006, 09:43:21 pm »
I did post a question before christmas about a good cleaner to use on upvc.

I did a gutter & fascia clean today & used  "uPVC Cleaner" made by NILCO.

I found it brilliant as it removed all the black watermarks from the fascia with no effort at all.
Customer was well pleased.

Just thought i would post this if anyone else had a question relating to this or was having trouble with any cleaner they are already using.

Hi Craig, just wondering about the upvc cleaner you used, have you used it on window frames as well? Is it easy to use and where did you get it?

Hi Michael,

I have used it on window frames and found it just as good.

I bought it in a discount place near me so i am not sure what other outlets sell it.

I paid under £2 for a 500ml bottle and bought 3. You only need a small amount which goes along way.

I have seen NILCO products around before when i was in London and up in Yorkshire.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help

Craig

I worked in the UPVc business for many years.  The fitters used White Spirit to clean the UPVc.
The bottled stuff they sell as "UPVc Cleaner" for £2 - £4 is white spirit masked with a nicer smell.    Or so they told me!

Do not EVER clean them with lemon (or any colour besides white) cream cleaner.   The colouring discolours the sealant.   nice yellow sealer around the window........yuk

The uPVC Cleaner i have mentioned is a white cream.
Have used a lemon coloured one before and no what you mean.
Glad it wasn't on a customers house.
