Just a point to note, if you can, make the reels removable so you can free up space in the van when required.

If you offer pressure washing, gutter vac, etc, you may need to remove the reels in order to get your gear in!

Lovely looking reels, interesting to know how you get on with them.

Fed up with "professional" reels wearing out plastic components and collapsing! They do get plenty of use tho!

i like the look of these reels  but think a frame/bar accross the top to stop the hose coming off would be good, and a hose  guide .what do you guys think :)

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/460-fixed-hose-reel-130m.html

these have a brass screw at side of the reel what connection do i need to connect to normal garden hose/hoselock

These usually have a 1/2" female screw on the side which will allow anything with a 1/2" male thread to screw in such as:

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/male-to-male-connector.html

This will then allow you fit either of these to the side of the unit:

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/brass-tap-connector-1-2-inch-or-3-4-inch.html

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/tap-connector.html

Alternatively you could fit a 26 series couplings to the side:
http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/pro-026-hose-tail-1-2-inch-male-screw-end.html

You would then need this fitting on the end of your 1/2" hose from the pump:
http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/pro-026-endstop-1-2-inch-.html

If the fitting on the side of the reel does not look like a 1/2" female screw socket then please feel free to email me on alex@agardiner.co.uk with a photo and I can take a look for you.

Usually clients use screws and large penny washers to screw them into their ply-lining. If you have not got ply lining then you can bolt through the floor of the vehicle. If you do not want to bolt through the floor-pan then you can fix it to a sheet of ply and then sit the ply on the floor of the van.

Which fitting kit did you buy?

Those reels are a joke, awful quality for a load of money!

One van of ours has the cheap ones from Gardiners in, fixed to the floor, and they are superb in comparison, no leaks, no self destructing, great value too!

Richy, have you fitted these reels yet? If so, how do you find them? {I want a new reel and want to fit it to the floor, run it out like Tim's, thru two rollers}
