Great Customer Cancellation
« on: September 21, 2012, 05:20:30 pm »
Had a good cancellation today, received a cheque in post with "i will NOT be requiring you to clean my windows any more"

Usually i dont bother but i thought well ill see whats up, i live in the country and a very close community round here so i dont want to upset people so i called her

"hi its matt here window cleaner, just wondering if everything was ok?
"no im not happy at all"
"oh sorry why is that"
"you came the other day and cleaned the fronts and left the back"
"no i definately did the backs i remember"
"no i looked around the back and you have not done the conservatory!!"

When i started...she told me not to do the conservatory...cant please em all can you lol  ;D

Some customers, that aren't crooked, are just mad.

Not mad customers but mad people...

However, for job satisfaction you can't beat "sorry, too busy" to the customers that mess you about then ak you to clean their windows.

I had one cancel last week "cos it uses too much water"

but I supply the water from a big tank in my van

"it still uses too much water - dont come again"

and as for taking em back - this happened yesterday on a lane of big houses where I do 3 (used to be 4) ex customer (the no 4) cancelled me about 8 months ago as "im going to do them myself"

just finishing the 3rd house and putting stuff away in van and he comes over for a chat all matey / slimey.

"Oh hi Ian you can do mine just for today if you like"

thought you was going to do them yourself ??   says me

"Well I was but just dont seem to have the time these days and got a viewing on the house tomorrow and theyre really dirty"

unknown to him is the fact that I know he took another window cleaner on as he did em for about £12 or even £10  opposed to my £20 except this bloke packed in about 5 months ago .. I know his as he offered me his work for sale but was all way way underpriced so kindly declined.

well you could call the bloke you had do them for you a few times after you sacked me

"erm cough erm hes not been around for ages, so you want to do them or not (getting huffy now)"  ;D

No mate too busy was my reply as I got into van and drove off.  ;D ;D
