As I am starting out and the few customers that I have are done on traditional hence looking at costs,I need a simple WFP system for awkward windows as I dont intend to use ladders. Most of my customers are bungalows and a few have the odd loft extension with a couple of velux windows. Therefore I dont need and cant afford an expensive system

In my position would you use either the:

1. Gardiners back pack £115 plus vat   or

2. Pure Freedom 25 Litre Trolley £405 plus vat

Obviously both will need poles/brushes etc.

Once I have more work and funds I will upgrade to a decent system but until then which would you recommend and also your reasons ?

If you are prepared to spend £405 for a trolley, you may as well get a DIY complete system from Purefreedom.

I'd look at any back pack over a trolley sysytem for what you want. The reason is, if its only occasional use then a back pack is easier to cart around. A trolley is heavier, and for what you say you'll use it, then it will be overkill. The money saved buying a back pack will pay for a RO too, which you'll need. Of course you could always consider an Unger telescopic pole for your trad tools, if cost is an issue and its only a few windows you need to sort out.

Go for a backpack. i used mine for 9 months when i first started out wfp. it will come in handy when you get a van mount. plus the money you save on the trolley would be best going on a light pole. remember if your going to only get one pole, get one that covers ground, first and second floors

Agree with this , I started with a back pack , still use it , together with my van mount covers every situation

So really a Gardiner back pack and a decent pole seems to be the way to go ?

And get a little folding sack truck for less than £20 to put the backpack on. Tie it on with a bungee.

Oh i see, thats handy !!
You could convert your trad pole, and put a brush on that if you want to save more money, especially if your only going to be using it for the occasional window.

I would definately agree with a lot of the advice people have given you and start off with a backpack.
If you want to upgrade to a van mount system later on the backpack will still be very useful and won't take up much room in your vehicle. It is ideal for awkward access properties (terraced etc.) and if you ever have van system problems or your van is off the road you will have a back up system to keep you working.
