I recently purchased a J Edgar, not to be confused with the legendary J Arther.

Supposed to be one of the best at clearing things up, although muddying the water could be an issue  8)

What they are trying to tell you is the George is not suitable for serious Carpet Cleaning .

You would need to spend between £1300 and £4000 plus vat Some might say and thats only playing at it . As they spend 50k on their set up.

In addition you will need loads of extras.

I think you might be better sticking to General Cleaning and Sub Contract out the Carpet Cleaning.

Also in addition to any equipment you might purchase it is essential you do several training courses to learn how to clean textiles .

If you have already done this I apologize.

There are several places you could look to investigate the type of equipment you should buy. If you scroll through old posts you will find numerous references to the pros and cons. Plus several start up threads.

I hope that this has helped. I would suggest you send it back, unless it is the best bit of kit for cleaning gutters or rubble.

good idea ! why do'nt you nip over to the windtow cleaners section, you can buy a little karcher window cleaning thing-y-me-jig for about £25 and if you can manage to attach it to george the world is your oyster

first off i still think your post is a wind up,  ;D  i can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to think a george could clean a carpet effectively. secondly you missed out the word BIG between the words a and pr!ck :) .
finally get a sense of humour transplant.  ;D

off to church now to help with the collection,   that vicar owes me ! , now where did i put them crutches ?  ;D

The George is a fantastic little machine for spotting and / or car valeting.
I used one for years on car interiors and they are a very well designed BRITISH made machine.
Saying that, it wouldn't be suitable for cleaning carpets as its simply not big enough, i think it only has a 7 litre solution tank.

Hope this has answered your question

D T Propertycare,
If you are serious about going into carpet cleaning the place to start is with some training. The NCCA will do a 2 day course that will give you an insight into the the type of equipment you need to do any kind of a descent job. The investment required is a lot more considerable. Do not be angry with the answers you have been given up to now you obviously do not have a clue about what you are going into if you feel that you can buy such an inferior machine and consider yourself a professional.
There are a lot of crooks and conmen trying to convince people that they are offering a proffessional service with such crap machines, these people are not held in very high regard on this forum. In every reccession we get many people esparately seeking another income.  Go on a training course before you waste anymore money on things that are not going to do the job.
