« on: April 23, 2012, 11:32:23 pm »
when using lance with washer i need to pull trigger to help when starting machine.if i don't do this the cord hardly pulls out of recoil. Flat surface cleaner doesn't have this problem.

any ideas?

Thats what my old petrol Honda did, my smaller washers do as well and its only the electric start diesel that I don't have to drop the line pressure to start it. The valve to "freewheel the pump" was on the head opposite to the delivery port and just dumps the water onto the ground. Exchange engineering do a valve that does this automatically.

whirlaway may be leaking, the valve you need is called an easy start valve, or just keep the trigger pressed when you start it, or let the pressure out before you start it?

I dont have to pull the trigger on mine and i dont have a leak off valve. mines diesel key start. can it ruin the pump if you dont release the pressure? It always starts normally.

When you start an engine with pressure in the line you need to lift the unloader to turn the engine over or it hydraulics up, elec starts can do this but it takes some effort with a pull cord.

Its a valve you add on opposite end of pump to unloader, you simply open vavle to release pressure when starting machine - close it to work. We have added them to our electric petrols to release line pressure takes pressure of starter etc.  also helps the machine to start to syphon some direct drives dont like to syphon.
