how do you transfer the water to your ro unit? have you got a pump? which one please?
thanks.

Not done this but i'd imagine you just run rain water through resin canister.

I have ro set-up.

But thought, if i did harvesting would just open up tap on rain butt let flow through seperate micro sediment filter and resin cartridge and into my ibc tank i think rain water is about 40 ppm.

Nice pics Mike of your setup, what percentage of your water do you think comes from rain water? 20% (sorry is that a how long's a bit of string question)

Bloody hell E&M is WORZEL GUMMIDGE your Landlord? have a sort out! and im not gonna mention the car on barrells!  :o  ;D

I did look pretty horrendous today I must admit.
I've just emptied out my old truck to sell on ebay + the contents of the loft and two sets of wheels.
It will be tidy in the morning.
As for the barrels: They have served as our ramps for the past 40 years and have done very well for oil changes and other related issues.

i average 15ppm  off my shed roof but ive had it as low as 3ppm on a good down pour
i clean my sheet of perspex on the shed every week and give my gutters and pipes a blast through as well

Does anyone do this? Harvest rainwater into a tank, then run through a normal ro set up and send the waste water back into the rainwater tank.

yes you can do this and have minimal waste , but you will need to change your filters more often
