Employee Bonus Schemes
« on: April 15, 2012, 09:51:23 am »
Will be putting an advert in job centre this week and thinking of some incentive schemes to go alongside the min wage.

Thought of 3 so far

Attendance allowance paid every 3 months ?? ... £1 a day but all lost if throw a sickie ??

New Customer Bonus .... half the first clean to encourage a bit of leafletting from van ??

Monthly Van Turnover Bouns ?? ..... still thinking on this one.

Any thoughts or suggestions ?

Two outline categories, Performance and Quality.

Each must have clear set out and 'achievable' targets but there needs to be a bit of weight behind it. It's no good docking £1 if they don't show on a particular day, stop the entite performance element for that week, or month, however you calculate it.

Done right this will work well, done wrong and it can show how little control and understanding there is from the management.

Oh, new customer etc. this is more of a commision than a bonus and could be worked alongside.

i prefer the less obvious approach,  a gratis burger at the double-deck bus cafe,or if weve crammed in a lot of work allweek ,sometimes finish early but pay the full hours . i dont do it every day of course  ,but usually every fortnite

you could put in the job advert,"fringe benefits"

im thinking of a scheme whereby the workers whole family(within limits) could have a meal at the cafe,on the house - maybe every 3 months

i'm paying a £100 bonus each month for full attendance and being on time.  they loose the whole lot if they're late or not in (holidays excluded)

i also pay full first clean price for new clients they sign up, and give them half of conny roofs etc

all bonuses are at my discretion and can be withdrawn at any time (so if they walk out or get sacked they loose it)

why don't you all just pay a decent wage,it could be me but i have always worked harder for the boss who pays a better wage
i appreciate targets but they have to be achievable and too many reasons to loose than gain, doesn't motivate people
i also feel paying the minimum wage is more a bad reflection on you,it shows you don't really value the guy

thats my rant over  ;D
i am off to-play with my new aqua adapter ;D

i think i am paying a decent wage because although its min wage i pay them 8 hrs work, but they only tend to work 6.5 a day.

you pay a bonus to change their behaviour.  i found that when i didnt give them a bonus for signing up new clients they would sometimes tell people they didnt have time to give a quote, or they would not chase up any leads they got.

i pay them an attendance bonus as i have had problems with people being off too work if they get a sniffle or on fridays and mondays.

if by paying them a higher wage it cut out these problems then i would pay them more, but in my experience this isnt the case.

I agree, paying bigger hourly rate don't make no difference
to workers taking day's off.
I don't have any bonus schemes in place but defo
something i would like to introduce, i pay £8-9 an hour.
