LaddersFree Ltd operate The National Register of ladderless Window Cleaners.

Being a member of a trade assocaition is all very well but have you ever considered who knows about the trade organisation?
What I mean is whether or not it is your competitors or your customers?
It is all very well being a member of a trade association but unless your  customers are aware the association it really has little value.

Thtas why during 2005 we let over 15000 companies know about LaddersFree and during the next few wekks we plan to inform another 10000 companies.

Support from the Welsh Development Agency along with the continued success of the register during 2004/2005 has enabled us to offer members even greater benefits for 2006.

The most significant change to the membership package for 2006 is the introduction of a 'CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION' where members will be required to meet certian criteria before being awarded the certificate and subsequently becoming a member of The National Register. Due to the recnt changes in work at height legislation many of our existing members have suggested that such a certificate would help our members win new business and help reduce 'red tape'for customers by replacing the requirment to obtain customary information before awarding a contract and therefore ensuring our members stay ahead of the competition.

Not only this but when you receive your certificate you also receive a number of leaflets that you can distribute to your existing and potential customers to infrom that you are a registered member of 'The National Register of Ladderless Window Cleaners'. There are also other benfits including:
 - wesbite listing where potential customers can search for water fed pole operators withina specific area. Our website is currenly receiving 1700 hits per month.
- online suppoprt facility (password protected). This is  facility to help our members with the day to day running of their business and includes access to health and safety documents, industry news, discounted window cleaning equipment (10% off for orders over £200) and a one stop shop.

The cost of membership is £95+VAT.

Firstly Thanks for your enquiry.

Currently we do not inform customers about  the legal obligation for window cleaners to hold a licence. I am overseeing the marketing operations for the next 12 months and will certainly consider this.

I think you raise an important point here and it is certainly another way of trying
to ensure customers are using quality assured window cleaners.

We have received a number of enquiries about the cost of membership.

Not being funny but how many Feds are going to pop up now then!its seems like another money grabing opportunity one Fed already supports all methods,
why try and split the winow cleaners just because some people make poles! peole out there like the norm,just want a good job done without accidents etc,the pro window cleaners will know what to do,ie ladders or otherwise,next the vans will have so many stickers on the vans of Feds people will be confused to say the least,all this means nothing,theres only one reconised Fed this as we all know has been going for years,thats it I am starting up a squeegee party who,s in then
£30 for the first year! then £50 onwards,and I will give you a hand written cert to go with it! I am booking my holiday to the virgin Islands as I write this now!

Just to back up Johns comments. He is correct - we are not a Federation. LaddersFree operate The National Register of Ladderless Window Cleaners and have been operating for over three years now. Our website receives an average of 1700 unique visits per month. Not only this but a number of existing members asked if we could develop a certificate for members that meet certain criteria for window cleaning using water fed poles (for example providing us with two commercial references). Along with this we have had 25000 leaflets printed so our members can inform their custoemrs of the criteria they have met .

So, in summary it is not federation but merely a facility to help water fed pole operators win new business.
