Dont bother with those bought likes mate as already advised, they are no good for you and wont make a cat in hells difference. Get your friends to like your page, and as soon as you get 25 likes, claim your vanity URL which makes your page easier to find, place on advertising, and other factors I dont need to go into.
To all those who hate facebook, thats where most people will talk about you if they do talk about you, so why not take control of the conversation and maintain your reputation? you would be surprised how facebook can help yoru word of mouth reputation which can convert into new customers.
Dont get me wrong, canvassing is the best way forward, but having a facebook business page is definatly a great bonus and you only need to spend a few minutes on it a day to maintain it. Oh and be social with your posts, not business like, make comments to provoke interaction. A huge mistake businesses make is trying to be business like on a social networking site, who wants that?
