I thought I would entertain those of you who, like me, seem to enjoy looking at what others are cleaning in their manor.
Today was an unusually early start for me. I left the house at 8.30am with my son, Sean, dropping him at school at 8.35am. I was at my first house at 8.45am.
I have all my round within 4-5 square miles of my house.
To put that into perspective, this week I have put £8.00 diesel in my van on Tuesday and this has lasted all week...in fact I will not have to fill up until tomorrow.
A quick check of scrims, microfibres, addressed envelopes/cards (for customers who are not in), business cards and the mobile.
into the back entry where my water making takes place...check that the van is there, battery is charged, tank is full and ladders are secure.
a quick cheesy thumbs up which makes my lad want to batter me for being so embarrassing, and then I am ready for the day ahead.
arrive at first run of houses. I do these 3 straight off in 45 minutes.
then cross over the road for a new customer at £10.00
A 20 yard van move to the next 2 houses.
another cross over to house opposite.
the same house at the rear...all nice sheeting glass top and bottom.
Pack up, drive around a couple of corners to a great house...every pane of glass sheets wonderfully and in the summer, the goddess who lives here always gets me freezing cold beer!!
the same house at the rear
25 minutes and I am away about a mile to my next customer, alovely fella who lost his wife before Christmas (in the Trafford centre I think...no - seriously!!)
the back all done nice and quick
money in hand and off another mile or so to my next run.
The first customer here made me some toast with cheese spread, asked me to step in and after a brief chat, told me I could have any middle-aged woman eating out of my hand..!! I AM SERIOUS..HONEST!!
I do 10 of these...5 front only at £5 each and 5 whole house at £10.00 each...all next to eachother and WFP friendly.
finished at 2.45pm and home for a ham sandwich and a cold can of Heineken before the real slobbing out starts about 7pm when my lad comes back from football training.
Wait till next week, I do some great big houses on the edge of the River Mersey...millionaires row!!
