Do your hoses kink and twist?
« on: March 12, 2012, 07:04:23 pm »
Another question for those with WFP please.

Cleaned the van yesterday with my Wickes garden hose. Looks about 15mm bore but not sure. Anyway it keeps twisting and kinking when I'm dragging it out and coiling it away. Are the hoses used in water fed pole designed not to suffer the same?

Really?  I wish mine didnt!!  ::)  Gardiner do great poles.....but i think their hoses aren't as good as some!  That being said, mine is 2 years old now, but it kinks quite a bit where its got damaged/outer layer worn thru.

I can't remember the member's name, but he turned his hose around, so the well worn bit that was always used became the bit that went on the drum first.

Simple, but effective.

that's a great idea, I've just found out 30 metres of pipe I cut off my 100 metre reel which I didn't need and has been in the shed for 2 years, so going to cut the most frequently  used part of reel off and replace with the unused section.

but that idea of turning reel hose around is good to extend its life.

Yep, I'm not that member you are referring to but I did just that to mine last weekend. Like using a new hose :)
