outside tap fitting

when fitting a new outside tap, is there a place to fit the tap to cut into copper pipe, is it best to fit it high up or wont it matter

it wont matter where you fit it , but if you do it low then the tap on the outside will be low to the ground . above the waste bend would give you a decent height for where the tap is fitted outside .

ready to fit today, the one from b+q, my good lady dosent want that one with hosepipe showing, i have to get the one with the copper pipe in pack, all conects inside, just shows tap on wall outside flush.

You will probably have at least 3 bar pressure if we are talking mains water. Let loose and pointing upwards that would reach about 30 meters high so no it wont make any difference to your pressure.

...not that it matters but id be looking at 2 bar pressure tops..
Anyway just go on ebay and get yourself a wall tap screw attachment: example

turn off your water and tee in wherever you want. Be prepared for the pipes to empty where you tee in though....
Personally solder joints are best as they never leak when done right, but if you are putting the tee somewhere you can see it compressions will do fine..
