Local Mole Advertising
« on: March 03, 2012, 07:15:15 am »
Has anyone heard of this or use it, I've been approached today from our local paper group asking if I want to get listed in it.

However when I went onto their website today I've never seen anything as clumsy to use!

I'm getting an advert put in the paper and they are basically going to list me in the local mole search engine for free.

Never 'eard if it!

My rule for advertising is never advertise in anything where they have approached you

Mind you, I could be wrong...

When I used to advertise in a paper in the Manchester Evening News group I was always being asked by them to go in the Local Mole and upgrade to a big advert for about £250,never took them up as to me its not a place were anyone would go first to look for a local trader.

There seem to be dozens and dozens of these on line directories and I often wonder how they make money.

I tried it for free when advertising through the Manchester Evening News Group.
Not 1 job out of it.

When my tele sales rep phoned me he included me in such a campaign . did not realize for a couple of months until I came to be pay bill. Was not lot extra but different from my usual figure.

Gets confusing with 4 and five week billing periods etc

Did it achieve anything?  Well  if it did I did not notice . But if someone said Website we may have thought it was ours.

Selling the data to marketers.
