collecting.
« on: February 28, 2012, 09:28:24 pm »
I don't usually collect these days but tonight I needed some lager so thought I would collect some on my way to off-licence. Two custies who live a few doors away from each other just wouldn't answer their door at 8pm!! £38 would of been nice.
This is why I don't collect very often!! :(

about once a week

Wed about an hour , friday same

About 2-3 weeks in 4
About 50% of my work still on collecting , gradually moving away but sometimes its easier for big compact rounds with loads of 5-10 quid houses to just collect money this way
All the bigger stuff pays online and sends cheques and about 5% of the compact stuff pay in other ways , and all new custies send payment ...

Have you thought of sending a email payment request and allowing customers to pay by card?  Take a look at Payatrader & you could say goodbye to doorstep collections. The way it works is you send an email payment request with the amount due, the customer clicks the embedded link (your account) & inputs their card details. This is just one of many ways customers can pay.

Hope this helps you reclaim your evenings!

iv switched over to paying me by post or online and its an absolute blessed relief .

however i have lost about 10 customers who paid once by post with a note included to cancel. these are folk who had been with me 4 years ,but were not exactly friends if you know what i mean
