I need a method of removing carpet glue (F3) and residues of rubber carpet backing from a concrete floor.  There is approx 200m2 to do.

I've tried scraping it but it's just skidding over the top

My preferred method would be to grind it which will sort it.  Failing that if you do not have the equipment or do not want to get someone in then you could pre-treat it with Aqua mix Seling & Coating Remover and allow it to dwell then scrape it up with a Floor Mutt (Floor Scraper)

Thanks, I'll look into that, don't think grinding will be acceptable as it's a smooth concrete floor underneath, grinding/scarifying would work but I'd then need to screed it all afterwards.

Hi ive had to clean a lot of carpet glue off all types of floors when doing end of tenancy clean and i used to hate doing it as id have to scrap it but use tar and glue remover from clover chemicals now. I just spray ot on leave it to soak for 1/2hr or so and it comes off quite easy

Your under a slight misconception mate with grinding.  We grind and polish concrete and believe me when its done its smoother than a babies b*m especially if they want it colored and polished

80 litres of Xylene and a team working floor scrapers, buckets and rags is worth a try but that's a hell of a large area, it'll take more than a little while and a decent PPE budget!

All rags used will have to be disposed of once done as they'll be no good for anything else.

I've had success with this method on Terrazzo which was way trickier than concrete so I'm sure it'll do the trick for you.

I only did about 16 metres square and that took over 4 hours, although I had to take all sorts of care as the area was surrounded by newly laid carpet tiles and edging strip (by newly I mean the fitters were there at the same time as me!).

One question: why?

It depends what finish they want and what they are going to do with it when done.  Equipment wise  couple of high speed grinders and diamonds.  As to cost mate no real accurate price without some more info but around £6Kish ballpark starter for 10?
