« on: February 04, 2012, 04:21:01 pm »
Hi Guys.
Anyone know how much they charge? and are they as crap as I suspect.
It say`s 5p on their site, but I kind of suspect it would be a fair bit more.

Cheers

Don't touch it with a barge pole.  If you or your son are ever tempted, just send me a few wads of £20 notes instead and I'll post you some pictures of me in the Caribbean, enjoying your money.

At least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing the money you're wasting is being put to good use :)

Thanks for that Ian. I know my figures and I`m comfortable with the flyers, I just need the faith they will get of their arse and actually deliver them. EVERY time Royal Mail are supposed to deliver something to me , I have to go and collect it.
Anyway, it will be in the Scottish borders, so hopefully they give a better service than in city's.

I used them about 4 years ago, think it was like £35 per thou. Introductory offer minimum order £500 if I remember correctly.

Think it's about £55 per thou after offer.

Was a postie for 13 years and still keep in touch with them. Each delivery office returns box fulls for incineration. I would say 60% get delivered.

It's like this - rounds are longer, volume of mail (mail sort junk mail, catalouges etc) has risen. They all short staffed as they no longer take on full time staff. If a full timer leaves they are replaced with a part timer.

The leaflets are low priority.

Vast majority of my work is repeat & referral Dave, so I keep the mailshots going out to my old customers at least twice a year.  I do a little bit of my own leafleting (tiny amount to fill gaps in the day sometimes) and I deliver "neighbour nudgers" to the houses around a customer after I've done the job.

I don't advertise, as in newspaper/local mags.

YP/Thomson for those who still use it (still get a return but nothing to write home about these days)

Trying to use the phone more these days for commercials, although I hate doing it and it is soul destroying.  Did quite well on the schools last year with that approach.  the thing is once you've phoned and got the details of who to address things to, you can then send a targeted mailshot.  Telephone sales is one of my things this year I'm trying to push myself in to doing more of, because it does work.
