Plush carpet
« on: January 18, 2012, 08:07:37 pm »
Hi all this is my first posting here so your help would be appreciated
Today I came across a carpet which I'm pretty sure is plush it almost feels velvet like..the problem with it is it's in a church (alter) and they had some contractors in who lay down tools of some sort leaving oil marks in several places some pretty large ones as well.
I was tempted to say its beyond repair but thought I'd research it first..
I was thinking citra gel then fibre rinse .
Not sure if it would work on oil though ps it looks like engine oil !!!! :-X

simples... do a fibre test... check the construction... then a dye test. I'm thinking oil............ermmmmmmmmmmmmmm well a solvent will help and yes in gel form will prevent going through to backing but will the rinse and is it water sensative? Back to basics do a fibre test... check the construction... then a dye test. Failing that ring a trained carpet cleaner and take a commission.
