HVCA

Hi Guys,

I have passed my HCVA cerificate and a qualified to grade 2 (supervisor) level as a ducting hygiene technician. I am currently looking at starting my own window cleaning round. But I just wondered, is there any money in cleaning ducting, canopies, air handling units?

Do people tend to sub this kind of work out and what type of money can be earned from it?

Hi Alan,

I'm on nights this week, What times best to call you?

Since I've been working at this company I've done the HVCA certificate, IPAF licence, CSCS Card and my jetting course for pressure washing and drain jetting. I've also spent a lot of time carpet cleaning. I'm doing my level 2 cleaning and support services atm.

Starting to wonder if I could do a lot more than window cleaning?

Oh and my C.I.E.H Level 2 in health and safety and food hygiene in manufacturing. I'm a first aider also and done a harness awareness course.  ;D

I would check your contract of employment. If as an employer I had paid for you to do all those courses I would have a claw-back clause to mitigate my losses investing in YOU.

My employer does not pay for my courses. I've done a lot of them off my own back and the ones I've done through my current employer he has had them funded by a local training organization. Trust me he has had his money out of me with the overtime I've had to do which is usually about 15-20 hours a week.
