Hooray!! I new there was someone out there from Derby!!

How are you Mark?

Most of my work is out of Derby and I need another weeks worth but I'm trying to keep it within a 15 mile radius. I'm based up on the ring road by Macdonalds and Showcaes Cinema, where are you?

All the best
Keith

Hi Keef,

I'm new (only registered today) and in Derby (Darley Abbey) and am looking at starting a new window cleaning business. I am currently in retail and really want to get out of it.

Any ideas of where to begin, how to charge etc? Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. I'll probably start off on my own, and I realise it's not the best time to start weather wise, but any info or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Aye up Mark, most of people have never come across this before and they think you just taking the mickey when you walk away leaving the windows wet. I've found that if you can get them to have one clean and you do it properly, they're ok with it from then on. The trouble is, when you get a new clean and the customer shows too much interest and follows you around, keeping you talking for ages after you've finished. You'll do well to stick to your guns, I reckon this'll be the norm in a couple of years. I know Alvaston is pretty sewn up for window cleaners so you're doing well if you can get new cleans there. I'd be interested in knowing what sort of system you use. Feel free to e-mail me anytime. All the best, Keith
