Hi,

I normally charge £20 per side, Thats £60 for a three bed semi.

Remmber your high up, its very risky, and the cost of a builder doing it would be very expensive.
So charge correctlly,it smells and its an horrible job so dont do it for peanuts.

If the gutters are higher then an average hight my prices go up accordingly.

Nel.

Hi Lee,

At the moment we charge £25 per side irrespective of how many feet of guttering needs to be cleaned.

We will be changing our pricing structure to £1 per foot for residential and £2 per foot for commercial.

we are doing this as all the gutter cleaning companies charge by the ft/mtr and we were loosing out when there was a gutter over a pitched porch  and/or garage.

We feel we can do this because there is little real competition in our area (other than the big guys who charge £100+ per house) and we can offer the customer the safety of us cleaning from the ground so no ladders.

You need to know what your competition are charging and make sure the job is worth your while doing - it can be a dirty, wet and dangerous job in this weather.

Good luck, there is good rainy day money in these add-ons.

Regards,

Sarah

Hello Michael,

Welcome to the forum.  Plenty of expertise here so any questions you have just ask away.   ;)

We looked at the Onmivac system and its on our wish list for the future.  Too much to invest at the moment but looks like it's a great piece of kit.

In terms of flyers, we only promote these add-ons on the rear of our 'your windows have been cleaned today' cards which we leave after every clean. I will send you some bits by email - hope they help.

All your questions about cleaning gutters from the floor can be answered by clicking on the link below -if you need any further information just let me know.

As you can see there's stilll mixed thoughts on its ability to do the job but for us it has worked a treat.

I charge 45 and people are happy to pay this. But some better areas we get away with charging a little more.
It doesnt usually take more than 35 mins.
So really its good work.

100 quid a house, most are 3 bed semi's

i tell the customer it will be 120 quid and depending on the time it takes, i will slide the price down, BUT the MAX the job will be in 120 quid

this is the fascia's aswell

all done with a pole, i use a unger angle and a gutter cleaner spoon thing

then brush all the gutter and fascia with tap water and polish with pure

Hi all, only just found this site and it's great for info.
I have a cleaning business in harrogate (2 years)
I welcome your comments on gutter cleaning as it is coming to that time of year.
Could you please help.
I normally charge between £20 - £30 for cleaning a 3 bed semi's gutters.
I have been asked to quote for cleaning 123 houses (2 storey) gutters.
How do you start pricing something like that.
Ideas or help would be appreciated.
Thanks Robbie

We charge £25 per side unless its a pretty small house then £20 a side but this includes inside and outside of guttering cleaned and the facias cleaned.

If its a bit harder to clean like over a porch i will put another £10 on the price.

Robbie your price i take it is just to remove the rubbish from the gutter.
If not a you clean everything i would put your prices up a bit as your the one thats losing out.

Also i would say on your 123 houses work out how much you want to earn and time's that by 123.

£60 X 123 = £7380.00

Good money for a couple of weeks work

I am actually thinking about starting my son on gutter cleaning full time once he passes his driving test.

There is loads of work for this service just need to promote it.

And if the work gets a bit slack he will be out with me on the windows.

Paul, Thanks for that information you have been very helpful.
I,m still finding my feet in the cleaning world.
Would you drop that price considering they are all together and to seal the contract.
Thanks robbie

I wouldnt drop the price ... personally
what you have to remember is about bigger jobs like this is you'll win some and you'll lose some so quote your price .. you gotta be in with atleast a fighting chance

No i would not drop the price.

I have lost out on many jobs as i was to dear for them but i want to earn a good living no just scrape by.

But saying that i have also got a lot of jobs at my prices.

If they got a builder out to do these gutter cleaning jobs i know would probably be twice the price.
So they are getting a good deal anyway.
