Hi Colin,

There is a kit called a dragonfly which sells for about £400, it's basically a Vikan easishine kit, with a battery operated misting spray from a small belt worn reservoir.  It doesn't come with a pole either.

If you seach this forum for dragonfly - you'll find  the the general fealing is that they're not that good for first cleans, OK for maintenance cleans - and you'll need plenty of clean, spare microfibres and polishing cloths.

I started down the DIY route using a similar mop head that fits a WFP, with a belt battery sprayer ( gardiners sell them think they're about £30 ) - after reading the reviews on the dragonfly I've sheved that project for the time being and use a mop and squeegie on a pole.  I don't have many internal jobs with loads of high glass to warrant the outlay - at the moment.

Funny, I just got my vikan head and cloths in from Gardiners with pole adaptor collar. Add a mist jet, a cheap harris pole with trigger, backpack or handpumped vessel containing pure water and a bit of ISO and you're off.

TBH it's laughable that some of these companies sell these kits for that much. DIY you can do it for not much.
From what I've seen is they do a good job, but only when used in a two pad approach. Use one pad to get all the muck off, then put another one on there to buff it up. You might be able to get away with a one pad on very regular cleans. Swap it over when it gets too wet and you should be allright.

I've got two lanterns that I clean every 4 weeks and such a pain doing them by ladder, and high up too! Scary!!! This should hopefully work out well. The actual Vikan head is quite small so should be able to get properly in the corners.

Colin,I did what Dave Silverleaf did and go down the `DIY route`.
One rainy morning I knocked myself one up in about 2 hours.
It looks nearly as professional as the `DragonFly`.
Brodex are now doing the eqivalant to the `DragonFly`.
I disassembled mine cos`I too havn`t the work,,,,,,well I have,
But I use my Wagtail with drop cloths down.
Can send ya some `pics`of mine if ya interested.
They are big money for what they are.

Unger cone. The unit is there in a two compartment bycycle pannier
Carrier. They are Harris poles, the swivel head is from PoundStrecher,

Can you copy and paste the `pics`when I send em`down to you ?

Hi Lewis, could you do me a big favour and send me the pics as well? I'm trying to set this up for myself as well. If you want to I can then upload them somewhere so it's easier for people to see. Thanks.

the misting head I was using was from a micro irigation kit, think it was Gardena, most garden centres sell similar kits with spare nozzles.

It was just the right size to fit in the end of 5mm ID tubing

Sounds like Dave Silverleaf is the man to ask.
I`m putting a patent on my system, going into
Manufacture next week.
Week after that I`ll be a millionaire,no danger. ::) 8) :o ;D
