General advice request
« on: October 02, 2011, 10:29:53 am »
I have been asked to clean a show room carpet for a major carpet retail store. (2000sqm) The carpet is a polyprop short cut pile with a gel backing that is glued to a concrete floor. It is quite heavily soiled with traffic lanes from customers and there are allot of oily spots as well as tea/coffee spots that have attracted the dirt due to sugar content.

I was thinking : Good prevac with sebos, spotting where needed, pre spray with power burst with citra boost added then a good agitate. Followed by truckmount rinse with either acidic rinse or heat wave(ph9). Then to be followed by bonneting to hopefully stop any wick back. Blowers set up to dry quickly to assist with stopping any wick back. Any thoughts from other experiences members.

I'd spot after the clean, you could spend ages removing spots that would have come out with the prespray & extraction.

i tend to watch for any spots that don't come out with the extraction and either give them a quick spot there & then or I piont them out to my helper who gives them a tickle and i rince the area again when i finish

I would also quantify with client not all stains will come out

THANKS. We always do this as standard...and point out the wear in the traffic lanes.

Monty,
If you're usung an RX then you won't need to pre-vac and you may not need Citra-boost in with PB. You could bonnet over afterwards - job done.

That is the first thing one should do. Telling the customer frankly so that no misunderstanding develops later.
