:) i spent about 15 minutes explaining to a couple of customers of another window cleaner the benefits of wfp ie sometimes takes a couple of cleans to get it up to scratch ie spotting ect he hadnt told them nothing about it i think after me explaining he might keep hold of them i hope that anyone who is new gets into wfp explain to there customers and give them an explantory letter telling them otherwise they will look elsewhere and i think i need to direct him to this forum :)

Hi Pete,

In the documents to download section there is a WFP explanation letter, David (St Ives) has submitted.

It's good.

I use a numptyised version for my customers and not had any complaints (apart from one unfounded one - spots on the INSIDE of the window as it turns out).

I use two versions of the letter.  For my customers that pay extra on a monthly basis to clean their frames; I've removed the 'your frames a cleaned as part of the process' (or words to that effect).

Quite a few of my customers already know a bit about WFP cleaning, pure water cleaning and the Working at Height Directive.

Also, it makes me smile when I clean those windows of customers who dropped their previous WFP window cleaner for me, when I used ladders.

That'll teach 'em.

However, I don't think the previous guy (who dropped the area anyway) educated his customers about pure water cleaning.

As i`am just starting up again as a w/c I was out canvasing the other day, a customer stated an interest in my services I was invited to check the rear of the house when she asked what method i would use, i told her i would be using the traditional squeege method and at that point we agread a price, she then explained that her last cleaner tried with a hose on a pole without having much success, i tried to explain wfp but she wasnt interested, i gained the job but in time i`d like to go wfp myself so mixed feelings i guess, and to her last w/c I tried my best, oh i must add there was a window over a tiled porch and a window at the rear i coudnt do off ladders.

Hi, I hear what your saying CMS, we have a similar stuation with a few of our customers, we have been WFP for 2 months now but still have about 15 customers who will not switch over. We carry ladders on our van and at this moment in time continue cleaning them the traditional way, until new work arrives when it will be the take it or leave it situation. In a few years ladders will have probably become extinct and the customers you lost with have no choice.
