WARNING - Don't buy a WFP.......
« on: October 25, 2005, 06:11:01 pm »
..until you've seen the new Omnitrailer system we'll have in stock later this week.

It's a complete starter system with 250ltr self contained trailer, separate RO unit, pole, etc. We're writing the technical spec for it now and we'll have it, together with pictures, posted here within the next week.

The introductory price will be just £1799 plus vat and if you don't have any adverse credit history we can arrange easy and competitive lease deals at just £16.02 plus vat (£18.82 inc) per week!

This will an extremely competitive system - Watch this space.

Regards

Mike

Peter Fogwill of Broxburn Cleaning also does a very good trailer system, I almost went for it myself when I first started.

A few years ago there was a local gut using a trailer system, cost him 7 grand!!

It's all horses for courses isn't it?

If you're up to the task, then make your own, and of course by looking at the way others have set up their systems you can make huge shortcuts on the R & D.
The originator will have spend lots of money and lots of time and effort getting his system (whatever that may be) honed to perfection, some of this they try to claw back in the prices they charge for their goods.

Then someone buys the goods, pulls it apart and design's his own system based on the finished article from the originator!!!
He of course can sell it cheaper, he doesn't have the original investment to claw back!!

We have the Patent system to protect against this of course but that isn't as easy as it sounds, it gets very complicated to protect yourself from all angles.

Time I got to work! The wife want me to take her to IKEA this afternoon...to spend what I've earned this morning :'(

I'll just had my pennyworth here.

I am a w/c with 26 years experinice under my belt, I'm switching to wfp puerly for safety reasons with the added benefit of making more money per hour while I'm working.

I'm good at diy,my home is fit to grace any house come decoraters magazine,I've done  all the work myself and I'm proud of it.

But I draw the line on certain jobs, my car for one. I leave that to a mechanic, it costs peanuts in the overall scheme of things but it is safe.Just got 4 mitchelen tyres put on my 406, Could of done it myself and saved a few pound, but drove an hard bargin with the price and i feel 100% safe.

I'm wanting a 650 or 800 tank fitting in my van, the full system, Yes I could save a lot of money and do it myself. But I want someone to fit it who knows what they are doing, I will feel safer that way when I'm driving.Skypoles price is very good and competitive,I'm waiting to have a demo of them,But the brodex and ionics machines I've had demos of are excellent Quality. With a price attached. But its my choice. I dont view it as being ripped off.

If I decide to lease the set  up I look at it then it wont cost me a penny. How, For the last 2 months I have been telling all my customers I'm going wfp in december, Not lost a single customer but everyone of them has had their price increased by 20%. Thats an extra 6-7 thousand a year I'm on just by switching to wfp, I also know about 80% of my customers will ask to look inside my van at the set up.I want to open that van door and let them go wow,AT the end of the day their paying for it.

I've seen my freinds diy wfp systems, and it looks like its fallen of the back of a lorry.

If some one were to give you a porche or a kia, which would you choose?

Cheers Nel.

Matt, your spot on mate. When you buy a ready made system you use it as it is, job done. When you build your own you can tweak and modify it untill it is perfect for your needs. Each of us have rounds but no two rounds are the same. Access, and terrain are such big factors when it comes to an ideal system. I am seriously considering an o2 system that will do away with batteries and pumps. The development of WFP is really still in it's infancy. My main fear is that the chinese will start knocking them out at prices that will be attractive to home owners. 10 years from now they could be doing Aldi best buys at £150 a go.
A small DI cannister, cheap pump pole and brush, plug it into the mains and away you go. Doing your own windows with this, your resin would last a good while. Mass produced they could sell these at £100 right now and still make a fat profit. DAI

Trailer systems, whosever they are, are great for window cleaners who would like to use water-fed poles, but don't have a van.

By fitting a towbar (which costs around £110 for most cars) you can continue to use your car for window cleaning, and not worry about trying to fit everything in the boot.

Also, an added advantage is that if you work with someone else, the trailer can be left at a site with a worker and the vehicle may not need to be tied up there.

An additional advantage that should definately not be overlooked: If you were to have a crash, trailer systems present little or no danger to the driver and passengers.

But, you do need to have the space to park it, and some window cleaners have found that they are more likely to be stolen.  But, they are a great way to get into to WFP without the worry of an additional vehicle.

A point to remember though: the vehicle used to tow it will have a "gross train weight".  This is the maximum amount of weight the car can legally carry (including its own weight).  Trailers, like van systems, are very heavy and you mustn't exceed this GTW.  A hefty fine is the penalty if you get caught!  Having said that, (except for the smallest of cars) it is usually more than enough to be able to tow a good sized system.

Regrettably, a number of replies have needed to be removed from this topic.

***

The topic I posted was simply to inform members about a new trailer system we are about to launch. I am happy to have a debate about how it measures up against other trailers available from competitors and I'm happy to argue about the benefits of buying one from a reputable manufacturer as opposed to 'making' one yourself.

However, Express Cleaning Supplies sponsors this forum and does not allow other suppliers to use it purely for advertising. We do allow them to contribute in return for general exposure and we think we're pretty fair and reasonable about what can and can't be posted by them. Sometimes a line has to be drawn and if they can't accept it then they should spend their time elsewhere.
