backpack pump
« on: July 28, 2011, 05:04:40 pm »
Hi Guys
Had problems for a while with my old WCW backpack which has previously been fantastic.
The flow rate now resembles a very old man trying to pee( and I should know!)
I thought it was the battery but have eliminated this after fitting a new battery.
So it must be the pump.
Just want to ask if theres anything i can try with the pump before ordering a new backpack.
Thanks

have you dropped it, if you have just unscrew pump housing, then re tighten it up again ,mine worked fine after doing this.

the small screws on the actual pump itself just loosen them a bit then re screw them making sure the housing fits back correctly, sometimes dropping a pump dislodges the housing, breaking the seal, so pressure is lost, hence no water pressure during use, hope this helps.

Thanks John, I've been out and done it now so hopefully all will be well tomorrow, I appreciate your help.
Thinking back it did fall out of the back of the car when i was untangling the hose, so that may well be it.
I cant complain, had it a good few years and use it for all my upstairs windows, must have earned me thousands.
Been quite a saga really, bought new charger, then new battery,  cheap voltmeter before working out it must be the pump, feel a right berk!
Thanks mate.
