Any other jobs?
« on: October 23, 2005, 10:46:24 pm »
I was just wondering if anyone has ever been asked to price up other jobs?

I had a call the other day from an elderly lady wanting gutter/sofits cleaned , that wasn't a prob but the next Q. got me thinking have i been advertising handyman srvs too
because she asked me to fix boken sofits and to locate and fit bird guard to chim stack

is it me or what

Ps quoted her £85.00 She was happy & she pays cost of bird guard!

I've occasionally done other work but I think small jobs don't pay as well as w/c - it's difficult to get over £20 an hour and with some of the old dears you end up buying the (eg) paint/cement/sandpaper too - which takes time.

I avoid anything not pole related like the plague.

But once in a while an old dear who's been a long time customer and always makes tea and gives biscuits pleads for help and in I cave!
It's a game of three halves!
