Does anyone else use it as the rinse agent?
Just wondering because surely it must leave a softer finish to the fabrics compared with hard tap water.
Of course this doesn't apply to those fortunate enough to live in softwater areas.

It will become dirty but it won't return to its previous state. What is removed during the osmosis process is disolved minerals such as lime and calcium. These are what makes water "hard" and when at high concentrations they do hinder detergents working properly.
When you use it to clean carpets it obviously becomes dirty when it dissolves the dirt but it doesn't re-absorb minerals.
