microbore bubbling up!!
« on: July 14, 2011, 06:55:46 pm »
bought 100m of microbore from gardiners about a month ago and its started to bubble up in 2 places! >:( >:(

so i cut about 30m off the length.i dont need 100m on my reel anyway.feels much more managable now.has the hose got damaged through cars and bin wagons going over it?its just not possible to not have trailing hose across roads or id be moving the van more often.or is this hose rubbish?

what microbore do you use guys and have you ever had this problem?

i dont want to be buying hose every month thats for sure.

i use the microbore that came with my system which was from the cleaning warehouse, ive been using it 9 months, and it gets abused, but ive had no problems with it.

i've been using my 100 mtr micro bore from gardiners for 4 years now , dragged round corners , over main roads and no signs of bubbling , i did turn it around after 2 1/2 years , can't vouch for the latest micro bore from gardners, but sounds like a faulty batch to me .

I had a similar problem nearly 2 years ago, took a photo of it, emailed gardiners and they sent out new stuff with the delivery guy picking up the old. Inconvenient yes, but they did sort it with no quibbles. Microbore shouldnt bubble thoug even if abused.

Definitely faulty mate.

I've had 2 sets of reels from purefreedom that have lasted me 4 years + and one has just started to come to the end of it's life span.

I have however bought a new hose and reel from gardiners and I have to say the hose doesn't fit anywhere near as comfortably on the reel as the purefreedom one. Just have to hope when I start to use it that it's up to the job in hand.

i bought microbore off ebay and that bubbled up after a year, so it sounds to me they are selling the same cheap junk. i would ask for a refund/replacement, they should last for years!

My pole hose has done the same (not Gardiners) it's the two layers separating.

if the backpressure is too high it causes the inner layers to seperate (bubble)

you were saying you couldn't turn the flow down, how long does the pump run after disconnecting the pole?

If its any more than 3 or 4 seconds then its pressurising too much
