Fitted a new one a couple of months back,thought it was weird that it was twice the thickness of the original one,but thought it would compress over time.
Have to push the lid down,when I start the vacs up,then it sucks it down good and proper.
Have noticed since fitting this,that I am getting a build up of foam on top of the bit that holds the float ball (Steempro) and also a lot on the lid.
Gasket went today,it was 2 smaller ones stuck together,with what looks like double sided tape,I bought this from Prochem ?
Had to use a t towel ,until I could go buy glue to stick it together.
Would it be any good if I separated it,and put 1 part on the lid,and the other on the tank ?

The one you had was for the Powerplus not the Powermax by the sounds of it Mark.

Yeah,just spoke to a guy from Jersey who saw my post    There is one that is one piece,and not 2 stuck together,which I will order,

prochem doubled the thickness some years ago.
when you fit the new gasket the lid hinge screws need removing to let you drill out the fixing and increase the lid movement.
then replace the screws and the lid sits evenly and snug
