110v to 240v converter
« on: July 12, 2011, 08:36:51 pm »
Hey guys,

Im after something to change my 110v gennie to 240 to run a small wet vac on site.

The generator i have is built into my machine in the back of the van, and has two 110v plugs. Is there anything out there that will allow me to plug in a 240v vac into my 110 outlets?

Cheers,

Matt

Yes - just use a normal 240 - 110 transformer with a a pair of 110v plugs on a cable and a 240v socket instead of a 13a plug

so you just use a normal small transformer, just in reverse? and change the 240 plug from a male pronged one to a female one?

I didnt think those transformers worked in reverse

arent they built to go one way only? or doesnt it matter?

So,  110v lead, from my gennie to the small 3kva transformer...then change the 240 wall plug to a female 240 plug..
