[Woolton Windows]

Hi guys,

I'm doing my first house with leaded windows in a day or so, does anyone have any tips on cleaning them? Obviously you cant squeegee them very well. Do I just, wash, wipe with cloth then scrim away? If anyone could give me some tips I would very much appreciate it!

im wfp on most of mine now but for some I use applicator to wet some/most of the window in the middle, wipe over whole window with microfibre cloth or scrim then i always wipe again before too dry with a dry cloth, or for smaller windows wet a cloth and wipe on, then wipe off with a dry cloth.
hope it helps, ps, be quick if in direct sunlight as if they dry out you have to start again!

mop them as norm - maybe a little drier - blade it off - just from top to bottom will do.

then what i call 'wet n dry'

get one cloth to get most of the excess soap off - then a nice crisp dry cloth to complete the buff.

i find scrims are not too good for leaded,  can leave bits of fibres.

we only use unger micro fibre cloths

Seems like only yesterday I was asking the same thing on here.
Yeah WC has it really. What I do is go tesco get a cheap spray bottle something like windowlene and then empty it out and fill with GG4 and water. Or use deionised water its like 17p a litre and its in the car section at tesco.

Spray on, clean, and then buff up. That how to get a serious shine on lead 

Looks good if in a couple days you go back and check as lead are a pain and you dont know whats bee on the frames and glass before, some people do some strange things when cleaning there own windows.

I have a couple were the lead is sooooooo old I cant use any liquid and just have to dry cloth them. Makes a mess of about 10 micro fibres but the custy pays

same as above realy i just wet the window only slightly then run a scrim across the window spreading the water until its dry/smear free,if its first clean then soap window up more and damp cloth over window then dry micro cloth or scrim

wet cloth to spread dry cloth to remove

for a first clean id be tempted to use an old blade apply applicator all over then blade off from top to bottom then wet and dry
