Are you saying some guy who had 14k worth of work was going to give it to you but someone else said they were your partner (but they were not) and took the work for themselves?

If thats the case I would first see the the guy who claimed to be your partner and try to sort it with him, and failing that then I would see the chap who gave him the work and tell him what had happened and see if he could go back to these jobs and tell them what happened and see if you could take themover or worst case, find out what the prices for each job is from the guy who originally had the round and if its worth your while undercut the chap who now does the work.

no, a bloke who does a few shops near me, was telling me about some stuff that had happened to him,  basically some one said they where his business partner to get a load of work as the bloke was looking for him to give it to him,  and he only found out by chance when he ran in to the bloke whos buildings where getting cleaned,  if you understand what i mean

Same advice to him then. It all sounds a bit naughty to me, I think this chap needs to speak to both of them and sort it out, but if it happened to me I would have no problem undercutting the guy who took the work, as long as it was worth my while of course, if its rubbish work I wouldn't waste my time.
