Cleaning Buddy

I got myself a van!

Hi All. I have got myself a van. pick up on Saturday. Citroen Berlingo 1.9

It has sign writing on (not window cleaning)- does anyone know the best way to remove this?

Also looking for ideas of what new sign writing to put on - any pics anyone?

Or should I leave the van plain?

Use a hair dryer to loosen the glue, start to peel each letter, that should do it

Or,
A heat gun will remove the writing,
But there will be residue left behind and will need some kind of thinners to remove it.

I've found White Spirit works well for removing the residue - doesn't damage the paintwork either.

hair dyer then wd40 mate to get the glue off

I got a top tip when removing chavvy graphics from my Subaru....

Get a bucket of very hot water and sponge. Hold the hot sponge on each letter for about 10 seconds and the stickers come off really easy (when you are peeling sticker off, hold sponge on next one etc).
Any glue residue will come straight off with acetone (nail varnish remover)

If none of the above ideas work you could always try a flame thrower.  ;D ;D

A hot air gun is too hot and will burn the paint if you aren't careful.

I see the Valleting bay of Eddie Stobbart hauliers uses a wall paper stream stripper for doing the job of removing their body wraps from the lorries they take off the road to be sold on.

Got my van and tried all the kit out today and all working great.

The pole is a bit heavy mind, so I thinks I will try and get one of the carbon fibre ones.

Unfortunately I was unwell over the weekend so missed the touting opportunities - but going to crack on from now.

I would just like to thank everyone for their help and advice
