yes mate when you take the free listing they rank it high up, then you get a few calls and you are delighted, then here comes the bad bit yell will be on the phone shortly asking you to upgrade to an enhanced listing etc 
just say no and stick with free listing, it is handy enough for picking up work but not worth paying for, but that is just my tuppence worth others may disagree

i ad a medium weight listing for 2 year then i dumped .
now they wont stop pestering me iv had at least 10 (even more if you include answer messages) calls since end of february. i tell them every time google is doing best for me, they keep telling me the its all down to them that google ranks my site high. they wont tahe no for an answer. i feel like blocking yells number.
works for some, but the way they sell their business to you is like they think your thick or somthing, they tell you that 30,000 people veiwed your listing last year or some other figure that is vauge (eg if sombody was looking for an other window cleaning in your area and you were on the same page they class your listing as being viewed. they cant tell you how many people phoned you from seeing you listing.
