this has been said before..dont use the clamps....extend pole...hold the hose and pole at the bottom of the pole this will keep it up. when finnished release pole hose and pole slides down..keep clamps for awkward jobs were needed.

Sorry mate , dont get what you mean  ??? ??? ???

I used to do this, takes a bit of getting used to, in the end i went back to using clamps.

Erect the pole on the ground to the height you want it at, then place your hand on the pole hose at the end of the pole and bring the pole up, it wont come down as your stopping it with the pole hose. and when you let go of the hose the pole comes down, mind your fingers tho, sometimes it comes down fast!

Morning Matt!

Surely by doing this the pole would just spin?

Morning mate, yeh it kinda does but you get the hang of it.

Its fast when you get used to it, as you can flick it to all heights...but honestly in my experience its just easy and better using the clamps.
