Cleaning Finals
« on: May 10, 2011, 03:08:39 pm »
I'm really having problems getting these clean.  The muck won't come away from the grooves in side them so how do you clean them to ensure they are 100% clean?

What brush would you recommend?

I've read a few comments that they can only really be cleaned using a connie ladder and I'm strationg to think that's the case?

cheers

I exactly did that but on the finals there was still a bit of dirt in them.  Do you manage to get all the dirt out so they are completely clean?  If so what brush do you use to do them?

Cheers

Tfr sprayed or something similar will get the crap out....but if you are unable to remove the discolouration that occurs on upvc with just tfr then you will have to access the area, which is why we use connie ladders so that we can get the crap out that using just a pole and some chemicals wont touch......
Of course if you are just doing a clean and not a full valet then this would/should be pointed out to the customer in your original quote for the job,and then it will suffice just to get the algea/dirt off and not have to get them back to original.

Thanks

I used the vikan sill brush flocked on the roof and it was fine.  What would you recommend I use on the finals?  Same brush or mono (superlite) to pick out the dirt in the finals?

Scrub really hard with the brush, knock the finial off, clean by hand, hand the finial to the customer showing how clean it is and tell them to put it in the bin.

I spray them with hard surface cleaner and then use a paintbrush zip tied to a trad extension pole. Then just rinse off.
