Paint Off Vehicle
« on: May 01, 2011, 11:38:22 pm »
I am thinking of buying a car thats going very cheap but the reason its going cheap is because its covered in paint.
It seems like a thick masonary paint and is coming off slowly with hot water, ice scraper and elbow grease.
Does anyone know of a good way of getting the paint off without causing damage to the paint work

Thanks in advance
Danny

Farecla G3 is now available from halfords. I am at the 3rd stage in the 4 steps of restoring my car paint.

Best stuff I have ever used. Ordered some pads for my Flex machine so I can finish it off right. My arms are burning.

One would have thought that if it's masonry paint then a mild solution of phosphoric acid would get rid of it.  However if there are polymers in the paint I would use a little sealing and coating remover to breakdown the polymers first.
