I used a scraper blade.  It's a pain, but you only have to do it the once.  You get this on brand new leaded windows (or at least it's where I saw it).

Someone on here said that the best thing was de-icer. I bought some yesterday in our local motor factors to try. Got some really funny looks when I said there was another freezing spell on the way and didn't want to get caught short.  ;D ;D ;D
Now to find some stained glass to try it on.

The very best thing to get this harsh stain out quickly is urine.
Take some some urine with you in a coke bottle or the like, best thing for lead staining

I usually look at the stain and shake my head and say nothing will move that except a specialist chemical, I can order it in and try, but be aware whatever has caused the stain it will happen again, and the chemical will be around £20 plus my time ect, at this point they say just leave it, just thought it would take a minute with some magic formula you made up :D but if they they say yes whatever it costs just do it, then I will try get an answer, so far it hasn't happened yet.

Don't leave it in a fanta bottle on the dashboard. My kids will drink anything left in the van. Then you have to explain to the wife why they are throwing up all over the place.

By the way the reason urine is good is because it is full of ammonia ;) if you store it for a while it gets better at cleaning.
