when choke is closed fully does your machine engine pink/stutter a fair bit or sometimes stall? if so what did you do to fix it?

adjust idle screw?
or dont fully close choke?

you fully close the choke to start it then open the choke as soon as it will run without. If it needs some choke to run then you have a blocked jet in the carb. It will run rich when the choke is closed as thats what its for

Close the choke to start - this shuts the air offf which richens the mixture to start. You open the choke when running - this allows full airflow.

You burn less fuel with the choke open - with the choke closed the engine draws more fuel in as its air is restricted - is this a wind up ? Blastaway - do you think a diesel would be a good idea in this case ?

With a car you usually open the choke to start it then when it warms up you close the choke.
