Open forum meeting - all invited
« on: September 19, 2005, 01:56:17 pm »
i seen this and thought it was not fair it was not put on  this site ,as i know some people are banned etc ,and thought it should be available to everyone .this is the biggest w/c forum on the internet and i think it should be posted here.  if anyone is thinking of going from here ,let me know and i might tag along.

Following on from a thread started on the waterfed section, it seems clear that there is much dissatisfaction with the NFMWGC and the way in which window cleaning is represented here in the UK.  Some time ago I posed the question " is the federation simply the product of an apathetic industry"? If so then there is nothing to be done and we should accept the status quo.

For over a year now the Fed has been promising change and I'm sure that the apparent lack of change is not due to lack of effort from the "new blood".

Now this should not be taken as an indication that "Craig Mawlam" is going to start a new trade association because its NOT! However, I do think that a getting together of those with strong opinions would be a good thing and so I am willing to host an open forum meeting at the BWCA training centre (because its a free venue) on FRIDAY 30th September @ 10.30am. Topics of discussion could include;

1) Rather than acting as concerned individuals would a co-ordinated pressure group help to move the Fed forward?

2) Should there be a trade association specifically for the WFP community to ensure that WFP is properly represented to building owners, HSE and insurers.

3) Could a WFPTA co-exist alongside the NFMWGC?

4) Should there be an entirely new trade association to represent all aspects of the industry. Would an entirely new and enthusiastic body be able to meet the challenges that face the industry?

5) Open forum means no fixed agenda therefore any other matters arising?

Now I really want to make one thing clear as indeed I have whenever I have had private conversations with others. I have always been willing to get involved with anyone or any group including the NFMWGC if they feel that the industry would benefit from my support. Whatever the outcome of the meeting what I have said remains true.

And finally I need to know in advance how many people would like to come to the meeting, I really do not mind who comes, everyone is welcome. However if there is any less than TEN then then its fair to assume that apathy rules and nothing will change.

There are many ways to contact me, PM, e-mail etc, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Rgds

HI Everyone,

Thought I would bring this to the top of the page again, as the meetings is tomorrow.

Who is attending this meeting?? As for me, yes I am going, as I feel it is important for the future of window cleaning. Even though it is a 160 mile drive each way (or there about) and a day missed of work, but I believe if I can get my two pence in and comment on other window cleaners ideas, then it will be worth the trip.

Well for those on the forum who are attending, send me an email and we can meet for a coffee before the meeting if you like.

I will be going.

What started off as a chance to meet up and discuss industry issues has now gathered momentum, and is shaping up to be something very exciting indeed.

Having read the posts here and on other forums, I really believe that the outcome of this meeting will mean major change for the window cleaning industry, and boy is that long overdue.

I think had this meeting been called a year ago, probably it might not have attracted too much interest, but so much has happened in the last few months (and weeks!) that NOW is the time for change, and window cleaners are ready to drive it forward.

I'm also looking forward to meeting forum members there, all in all I'm really looking forward to it.

As I said I still can't make it

But if any one reading this goes lets get a new Window cleaners body up and running, possible a regional one linked to a national main body then every one would have a better chance of attending meetings ect..

As mentioned earlier on this thread my moneys here also to join a organisation that helps and promotes my tade in this changing climate
