how do you or did you take window cleaning from being a job to a business? Any little tips out there if you plan to employ or  rent out work and take yer cut etc.
I am starting to think differently regarding my job now andwould possibly like it to become a business in future.

you ar ethe guys brains i would like to pick. after seeing yer new toy it mad eme sit up and think over the weekend mate. it's how about how i move onto next stage. i have experience of managing people form mylast job and have worked quality systems etc. i am also fully qualified in all aspects of H&S  with NEBOSH and IOSH certification.

i have ran production teams and prgrams so know all about that sid eof things it's just someof the other stuff like employing or using self employed guys etc

hmmm its difficult to really give that sort of advice, because things are so different from one company to another.

I use this forum to learn about other peoples experiences, new equipment and so on.

Decisions like employment or self employment and how to do it I tend to research online, or talk to my accountant or solicitor and so on.

The very fact that you have spent the weekend thinking along those lines is the start, keep your mind in that direction is really the best advice I can give.

Since the beggining all I think about day and night are new ideas, how to make them work, what the results and problems might be, who to speak to to make it happen so on and so on, it never stops.

yes i can LOL. i have a good little mix of work just now and enjoy my job but want to look at things differently this year. possibly have someone work with me for say 2 days  per week if possible and pay them. thing is i need to get the right guy as i am not payingout 130 odd quid for licence every feckin time.

also need to know how it works with regards to insuranc etc. personally i'd like a guy workingself employed and i give him work that way he will have his own PLI and licence but will work alongside myself. dont wanna emply for say 2 days per week

you can "employ" ad hoc help on a zero hour contract. As Lee said, take some advice from your accountant or similar source and go from there.

Job versus business troubles a lot of people, including me.You have to be prepared to go backwards for a while or earn less money.You mention £130 a pop for a licence, well you may have to kiss a lot of frogs.

I had help, we went like stink, and then after three weeks ran out of work.I put a lot of effort in and got more work and then he left, i tried another, paid him while i was away, and then when i came back he left.Attempt three and the few days i could work in december my help didn't show.

In have to do two mens work and i don;t even want to do one mans work, but if i don't i lose my business.It's tough out there.

(I agree with ronnie B by the way and steve's choice.The point about books is you do need motivating and fresh invorgorating ideas do this)

behave.... loads of millionaires have trouble with grammar, intelligence isn't necessarily measured by someones ability with language, he is running a window cleaning business, not writing books that explain rocket science

don't worry this is just me typing to quick half the time. I normally cannot be bothered correcting anyhting on forums but if I am working on documents everything is in order. LOL
