As I've been out canvassing I've picked up a fair few 3 story houses, they seem to build 3 story houses a lot more these days, my question is how much do you charge for these 'bad boys' I use treble ladders, and the traditional way, so charge 15 - 20 quid, and have never been told that's too expensive, one lady sai to me that she was quoted 25 quid! Maybe I'm too cheap, but it doesn't take long to bang out these houses, it's usually only 6 windows at the front and 6 at the back on average, and yes I have no problem with being up there on a ladder, makes me feel
like a man...! And I've found wfp guys seem to be losing customers round my area, so I'm put off ever changing from trad way for the near future, after all it keeps the legs in shape!

a tenner round here mate for em.they have very small windows and take around 15-20 mins  WFP.


listen mate ill be honest WFP is the way to go!i was trad for 16 years but wfp is so much better,safer and you ll earn more money!!its a no brainer!!!

i still use trad on some work but im 80% WFP now.


best move ive ever made and ive picked up a fair bit of work BECAUSE I USE A POLE SYSTEM!!!


dont believe the hype that wfp is crap!!why would we spend and invest all this time and money in getting set up?BECAUSE ITS ONE HELL OF A TOOL FOR CLEANING WINDOWS DAY IN/DAY OUT!!

i really hope you dont fall from that height. can you still reach the  set back ones?

my mate fell from 10ft in november, he wont be out of his nuts n bolts n bars till may! luckily he has workers to look after the biz. £20-£25 sounds ok, but i would charge more if i were you for danger money

I will think about wfp in the future for sure, but right now Need the customers first, and trad is cheap! I will look onto once I've got an established round, for some reason I've herd a lot of people moaning about the wfp guys round my area, but you can't keep everyone happy, I'm insured up to 30ft, and yeah I can reach most windows that are set back as long as there not stupidly hard to reach, it's ok on grass as the feet dig in, but on concrete and paths I try to have a steeper angle to make sure there's no slipping, I also have used my car as a block for my ladder when at the front of houses if I can (no I don't care about my work car, it's a banger) so I'm pretty safe, and a few people I know do it as well, maybe were a biT mad! Maybe I'll go 25 quid to include 'danger money' we just think of it as 2 stories and pretend it's the same! I would never do it on a wet day or any ice! That just suicidal!

I charge a tenner for them, and to be honest i am not a fan of them so activly avoid getting any more. They are normally in terraces of 4 or more, all the back gardens are obviously seperate and you have to drag your hose right round the back up alley's. Because they are 3 storey and terraced i find myself waiting ages for the water to stop dripping as i would take ages and go mental getting the hose snagged going from back to front between levels, and most have bloody balcony rails...nightmare.

Am curious how you obtain insurance for using ladders to clean 3 story properties surely you risk assessment would have concluded wfp

Please dont go that high ,be safe get wfp (if its in your budget) or stick to normal houses is my advice,if you do fall from a normal house its bad enof imagine how it would be way up there.

be carefull i just sold a pole on e bay the windy that came for it said he was going wfp after 25 years because he got pulled by health and safty for going up to 3rd story on ladders he seemed genuine

i do a few third storeys  on the ladders  ,.not sure why though !     in reality its easier to just do the regular houses .i tag on only a few quid for the higher floor which isnt enough but thats me,daft 

 one house i do is on a busy town street and working alone so high up with schoolkids shrieking down below always give me the willies !!

hi i clean in colchester and  i think for the size of houses u say to get 15-20 it's very good just for 12 windows .i would charge 13-18 depending on the size of the windows and frequency but i'm wfp and only takes 15 -20 min.i use to do 3 story houses of ladder i wouldn't touch the trebble ladders anymore

I've always done trebles since I was 18 and that's 4 years with no problems, but I never ever take risks, I'm not in a rush to fall off! I don't do it on windy days as I said etc, but I'm now going to charge 20 quid no matter what, I can't afford wfp, and right now I'm happy with trad, till I build up a solid round, my work mate and I do 4 blocks of flats each 3 stories and we've always been fine, it's probably down to how safe you make it, nothing has changed over the years, ladders are safer and why suddenly worry now? Its only since wfp has been used that everyone now worries, but I find customers like that I'm at the window rather than using a brush from 25ft away, so for now it's my only way, but I will definatley look into wfp in the future. As for insurnace all I know is were insured up to 30ft, and the flats we do needed to see the forms and they found no problem, so it's all good, also we got that job because the windies before were wfp, and they couldn't do a good enough job (for whatever reason) so we got the call and they been pleased since.

We have no problem getting insurance to 10 meters. Do a lot of work for companys that have to see the certificate first, again no problems
