Pressure washing

Is this type of machine any good?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIESEL-PRESSURE-WASHER-/250754852269?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item3a622765ad#ht_821wt_1139

We have a few small jobs that require pressure washing like drive ways. Nothing too big.

I take it you can just plug into the mains water supply.

No need to go anything fancy hot box etc as would only being doing a few small jobs to start. Usually we sub this work out.

Hi Dave,

Not sure about this it looks/sounds like a cheap machine. Our machines are Honda (petrol) engines, and Yanmar (diesel) which are bullet proof (touch wood),

I would only ever draw water from some type of reservior as it is not only about pressure when cleaning but also about the amount of water used to shift the dirt!! ;)

Hope this helps. :)

Regards
Alan

Hi Alan,

Yes I must say I thought it was a cheap machine. Its just that I did not want to purchase a TOP NOTCH machine as its not an area we would be doing a great deal of work in.

We mainly clean offices & carpets.

Can you recommend a machine that would worth while that would be powerful enough to do driveways and patios and possibly a small bit of graffiti?

cheers

These machines that look like the real thing should be treated like cheap lighters  - throw them away when they run out of fuel. Ring the dealers and ask about a seal or valve set and see if they stock them. Buy nice or buy twice

DO NOT BUY one of these machines when i first started out money was tight so i bought a Kiam petrol washer which was i think £500 6 months later after many many problems i scrapped it and bought a PT250e from Techclean.

I could list all of the problems with it but it would take me hours  ;D so i wont

covered the cost with 2 jobs but would pay a bit more for electric start
